Can you believe it is already September? School is in full swing. Just wanted to give you some updates on things to come and information on some changes for this year:
MONDAY SEPTEMBER 5TH – NO SCHOOL
TIGER TIME – Starting Tuesday of next week we are implementing a school-wide tiger time from 2:50-3:20. This first semester we will be working on strengthening our addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills. This time will be used to give extra support to those kiddos that need it as well as to offer enrichment to students as well. We wil be utilizing the Rocket Math Program in order to help facilitate practice of our math facts. We are very excited to launch our Tiger Time this year.
READING CONNECTION – Once a month I will be sending home an electronic handout called “Reading Connection”. This newsletter offers tips and suggestions on how to help your child improve his/her reading comprehension skills. I will be sending a specialized newsletter geared to your child’s grade level. Different grade levels need different things, and I want to provide you with information valuable to you and your child’s reading ability. I hope you take the time to read these as I send them.
MORNING DROP OFF – Just a friendly reminder that students are not to be dropped off before 8:15. Teachers need the morning time to get ready for the day, and there is no supervision provided for the students before 8:15 unless enrolled in Tiger Tales. Drop off breakfast eaters can go into the cafeteria at 8:15 as well.
Thank you and have a great Labor Day weekend!
